Tip #185 - How Panels Get Populated to the Social Security Disability Page
We have added a new page in SmartAdvocate called Social Security Disability[1].
The initial panels visible on the Social Security Disability Page are General Information and Initial Application.
Generally, you would enter information for the Initial Application and subsequently, a decision on the Initial Application. Depending on the decision entered (Partial Approval or Denial), a new panel will open, Request for Reconsideration, where further action may be taken.
If a Partial Denial or Denial is entered on the Request for Reconsideration, then a new panel becomes available: Request for Hearing.
If a Partially Favorable or Unfavorable decision is entered on the Request for Hearing panel, then on the new panel, Appeal to Appeals Counsel, becomes available.
If a decision for Remand or a Denial is entered on the Appeal to Appeals Counsel panel, a new panel, Federal, becomes available.
In essence, an adverse decision entered on a panel will open a subsequent panel for the next step in the appeals process for Social Security Disability claims.
[1] The Social Security Disability Page (on the Case Menu which is visible on the case’s Summary Screen) may not be visible by default. Your SmartAdvocate Administrator can use the Case Menu Configurator to add that page for those matter types. You may also want to have that menu item displayed at the top of your menu list.
