Tip #240 - How To Add Co-Counsel And Co-Counsel Fee

Another great feature of SmartAdvocate is the ability to enter Co-Counsel information and Co-Counsel fees. The Co-Counsel fee is shown/entered on the Settlement Page and can be populated automatically if you have entered Co-Counsel information and fee percentage amount on the Retainer/Referral Page.

Here's How:
First, enter the Co-Counsel information on the Retainer/Referral Page.

Note: The Co-Counsel fee percentage (or amount) entered on the Retainer/Referral Page will be automatically pushed to the Settlement Page and used in the settlement calculations.

FYI: You can override the fee amount that is automatically populated in the Co-Counsel field if necessary. If the Co-Counsel fee amount was manually changed on the Settlement Page (i.e., different from the amount automatically calculated based on the entry made on the Retainer/Referral Page) you will see an exclamation mark to the right of the field. The “refresh” button (circular arrow) to the right of the field can be used to populate the field automatically with the values from the Retainer/Referral Page.
