Tip #192 - Fax or Email Medical Records Requests from the
Medical Records Follow-up Dashboard

When you create a Medical Records Request on the Medical Provider Page, the Request is automatically populated to the Medical Records Request Follow-Up Dashboard. As the name implies, this dashboard was designed to aid with and streamline your Medical Records Requests follow-up. Please note that this Dashboard can only be populated if your request was created on the Medical Providers Page.

By default, the Medical Records Request Follow-Up Dashboard shows your requests when you access the dashboard. You can select a different staff member whose requests you want to review, by simply selecting that person’s name from the drop down in the top left corner of the screen (“Assigned To”).

Select one or more requests by checking the appropriate check box(es) in the left column. The “Send Email”, “Send Fax” and “Generate Requests” options will then become available (bottom right corner of the screen).

Please note: The appropriate email address and/or fax number must exist on the provider’s contact card in order for those options to work. Also, your system must have eFax configured and available for faxing in order for it to work from this Dashboard. Both the Email and Fax options will allow you to select up to two documents from the case to be emailed or faxed (e.g., the Medical Records Request and HIPAA Authorization).
