Tip #235 - Understanding The Outstanding Items Page

Tip #235 - Understanding The Outstanding Items Page

There are several pages in SmartAdvocate where “Outstanding” items are listed (e.g., outstanding medical records request, outstanding demand for discovery, outstanding response to motions, etc.).

The individual outstanding items shown on the above three screenshots (Medical Records Requests, Discovery, Deposition, Motion and School/Other Activity) are entered on the respective page for each item.

It is somewhat inconvenient to navigate to the individual pages just to find out whether you (the Plaintiff) have items that are outstanding. Therefore, the Outstanding Items Page was developed to list them in one convenient location. Unless it was reconfigured for your system, by default, it is listed under the “Other” tab on the left menu accessed from the Case Summary Screen.

Entries for the respective items (such as the satisfied date for medical records requests, discovery, motions, etc.) must be made on those individual pages, not on the Outstanding Items Page. As a convenience, the outstanding item type (motion, medical records, etc.) provides a hyperlink that is clickable and will take the user to the respective page for that item.

Outstanding Items include the following:

  1. Medical Records Requested, but not received

  2. Discovery items that do not have a Complied/Held date

  3. Opposition and Court Order/Decision date for Motions (i.e., Opposition Due Date is present, but Response Served/Received is empty or the Order/Decision date is empty)

  4. School/Other Activities verification that is outstanding (i.e., School Verif. Requested Date is present, but School Verif. Received Date is empty and Other Activity Verif. Requested Date is present, but Other Activity Verif. Requested Date is empty)
