Tip #118 - Using the Repeat This Task Feature to Create Recurring Tasks

Occasionally, you may need to complete an assigned task and have the task repeat on a later date. The ‘Repeat this task’ feature allows the most flexibility with respect to when you want the task repeated. You certainly can use the ‘Automated Procedures Management’ function to set repeat tasks, but this feature is more firm, in that, the task will repeat on a predetermined schedule, e.g., every hour, every day, every week, etc. With the ‘Repeat this task’ feature, you determine when you want the task to repeat by entering the new due date.

With the feature enabled in System Parameters (to enable, go to System Parameters > Group Description > Notes Automation should be set to ‘True’), when you mark a task complete, you will be given the option of entering an optional note, have the task repeat, and select the date you want the task repeated.
An appropriate note will be entered on the Notes Page (again, with that feature enabled in System Parameters. To enable, go to System Parameters > Group Description > Task Settings should be set to True.)

You can repeat this function as many times as you wish upon marking a task complete. The initial task will be documented as completed and a new task will be created.
