Deleting a Duplicate Contact

Q: I accidentally added a contact that already exists. I don’t see any delete button for the contact. How do I delete a duplicate contact in SmartAdvocate?

Here is an example of a duplicated contact.

A: Follow these steps to delete a duplicate contact in SmartAdvocate:

  1. Open the Contact Search tool (Contacts > Contact Search) and search for the duplicated contacts.

     

     

     

     

  2. Select both the contacts in the Contact List.

  3. Use the Merge Contacts tool (Mass Action > Merge Contacts) above the Contact List.

  4. In the Merge Contacts window that shows up, choose the contact that you want to keep.

  5. Uncheck the Select All checkbox and/or uncheck all checkboxes.

    This will process the merge so no information gets carried over and the unselected contact(s) is deleted.

  6. Lastly, click the MERGE CONTACTS button to process the merge.

     

     

     

You have successfully deleted the duplicate contact!
