Tip #258 - Enter Medical Providers Directly From The Injuries Page

Generally, the entries for medical providers are initiated on the Medical Providers Page[1]. Sometimes you may need to enter the medical provider information when you are in receipt of some medical records, e.g., when records are received from the client, prior to the medical provider being entered. As a convenience, SmartAdvocate will allow you to enter the medical provider on the Injuries Page.

Here’s How:

1. Go to the Injuries Page. If the sub-table showing “Add Injury Details” and “Add Injuries Using ICD Codes” are NOT displayed, click the “>” arrow to the  left of plaintiff’s name to display the sub-table.

[1] When configured, you can enter medical provider information through Intake Wizard.

2. Click the “Add Injury Details” tab to open the Edit Record page.

3. Enter injury information as appropriate.

    

4. Click the “Add Medical Provider” tab to open the “Add Plaintiff Medical Provider” page.

5. Enter and save the medical provider information as you normally would.

The Medical Provider information will be saved to the Medical Providers Page and will now be reflected on the Injuries Page. The Medical Provider entered here will be automatically checked as the provider for this Injury/Diagnosis.
