Tip #271 - How To Use The “Task Back” Feature

The Task Back feature allows a user to “reassign” a task to the original Assignor. The feature is most useful when you need to occasionally reassign an original task back to the task creator (assignor)without having to mark it complete then create a new one from scratch.

Here’s How:

  1. Edit the task you want to work with.

  1. On the Edit Task Page, click the “Task Back” button.

The names in the “Task Requester” and “Assigned To” fields will be reversed.

  1. Check the box(es) to “Send Email” as appropriate.

  2. Click the “Save” button.

The Task will now be reassigned to the original Assignee.

A Few Things To Remember:

  1. This feature is best used where there was staff who assigned the task to begin with(i.e., not a task that was automatically assigned by an Automated Procedure or Work Plan where the Assignor was not designated. In those instances, the task was most likely “assigned” by the system and may have the designation “Unidentified Staff”).

  2. The task will NOT be marked completed when the Task Back feature is used, but it will be shown as modified in the case timeline.
