Tip #255 - Enter Plaintiff’s Non-Party Contact Directly In Intake Wizard

Occasionally, it may be necessary to use a non-party as the Primary Contact in a case. This may happen if the plaintiff is a minor or incompetent person.  In prior versions of SmartAdvocate, the only place this information could be documented was in a critical comment or on the “all contacts” page. Neither of those options were particularly convenient. Moreover, there was no easy way to have those contacts automatically merged in a document.
 Now, with the current version of SmartAdvocate (2023), not only do you have the option of displaying non-party Primary Contact on the case’s Summary Screen, you can enter that information when the case is being initially created in Intake Wizard!

 

Once in Intake Wizard, you can enter a non-party contact in the same general section where the plaintiff’s information is entered. Simply click the tab for “Non-Party Contact” and enter the contact information.

The Non-Party Contact that is entered in Intake Wizard will be automatically displayed on the Plaintiff’s information page and also on the Case’s main Summary Screen.
