Tip #61 - Make Use of The Additional Features Available With Your Notes Entry

Did you know that there are several handy tools available at your disposal that will make your notes entry more efficient? Let’s look at some of them.

Related To

If your firm tracks multiple plaintiffs in the same case file, for example, you can use the “Related To” feature to select from a dropdown the party or contact that the note relates to. The dropdown allows you to select from all contacts in the case or you can select from all plaintiffs or all defendants specifically.

Insert Text

The Insert Text feature will allow you to enter the Contact Information (contact in the case), a Timestamp or Document Link(s)[1]directly in the body of the note without having to manually type in the information. The Insert Text for Contact Information will allow you to enter the Contact Phone Number only, the Contact Name only or both the Name and Phone Number together.

The Timestamp option simply inserts the current date and time and the user’s first name in parenthesis. The Document Link(s) option inserts a hyperlink to the specific document in the case.

Note Templates

The Note Template feature will allow you to use pre-designed templates to automatically populate specific information from the case in the body of the note. Below is an example of a Note Template used to insert the insurance company, the insured’s name, and the claim number in the body of the note.
