Tip #47 - The My Cases Dashboard

Tip #47 - The My Cases Dashboard

Did you know that you can get a list of all your open cases in SmartAdvocate with just two clicks? Simply click Dashboards > My Cases and you will see a list of all the cases you have been assigned to (in whatever role). [Please note the ‘My Cases’ panel, if included on your My SmartAdvocate Screen, will display the same list, but limited to show only Case #, Case Name, Case Type and Status]

The My Cases Dashboard, however, will not only display your open cases with a lot more columns of information (a total of 27 possible columns available), but allows you to make certain changes to your cases and allows shortcuts to additional functionality (such as the options available with the ‘right-click’ function) right from the Dashboard.

Some key pieces of information that can be shown on the dashboard for each case include the Case Type and Sub-Type, the Case Status and the number of days it has been in that status, the last note that was entered in the case, the Primary Attorney and Primary Paralegal assigned to the case, the defendant and incident date, etc. Also, since the plaintiff’s phone numbers are automatically displayed with the plaintiff’s name, this dashboard makes it convenient to work from the list to contact your clients and update your cases right away (see right-click functionality mentioned above).
