Import Case/Contacts

SmartAdvocate allows you to create new cases or new contacts using our Import Case/Contacts Tool.

To use go to tools > Import Case/Contact

Click on download template: Case or Contact depending on the type of import you wish to use 

Your download will be available at the bottom of the screen.  Click to open it. 

For the Case import, complete the information on the spreadsheet using the sample case as an example of the type of data that should be entered into the fields 

The following columns will require information directly from your SmartAdvocate system for the upload.  Here are the columns and where you will find the information in SmartAdvocate:

The contact type column will require information directly from your SmartAdvocate system for the upload.  The contact type is in the picklist maintenance section under admin. 

https://smartadvocate.atlassian.net/l/c/79sdHZPw Once you have completed your spreadsheet for import, save the csv file to your desktop in the exact format. 

Go back to SmartAdvocate > Tools > Import Cases/Contact screen.  Select either Import Case or Import Contact depending on the CSV file you will be uploading then click on Upload File.

Click Browse. 

The cases will appear on the screen.  If they are acceptable, click import.
