Quick Injuries

The Quick Injury system in SmartAdvocate allows you to quickly and efficiently record injuries when performing intake or updating a case's injury report. Each case type can have any number of Quick Injuries associated with it, which are the injuries likely to present in cases of that type. The Case Wizard and the Injuries case page both make the Quick Injuries from that case type available for selection, saving you the time of typing each injury out manually. The Quick Injuries administrative page is where you can create and manage Quick Injuries. Quick Injuries is divided into two tabs, only one of which is visible at a time; click the heading of the tab you want to access to bring up that tab. The tabs are Injury and Case Type. The information in both is the same, but the way it is presented is reversed: Injury displays a table where each Quick Injury is paired with the list of case types that use it; Case Type displays a table where each case type is paired with the list of Quick Injuries that it uses.

Injury

This tab contains a table listing all of the Quick Injuries in the SmartAdvocate system. The table's columns are:

  • Injury: The name of the Quick Injury.

  • Case Types: A list of all the case types that make that Quick Injury available.

  • Actions: An action column containing an Edit icon and a Delete icon.

You can create a new Quick Injury in this tab; the panel for doing so has a text input field for the injury name and a multiselect checkbox dropdown of all the case types in the system.

Case Type

This tab contains a table listing all of the case types in the SmartAdvocate system. The table's columns are:

  • Case Type: The name of the case type.

  • Injury: A list of all the Quick Injuries that the case type makes available.

  • Actions: An action column containing an Edit icon and a Copy icon. Clicking the Copy icon brings up a panel allowing you to efficiently copy the list of Quick Injuries from one case type to other case types. The panel contains an immutable field with the source case type listed, a checkbox-select dropdown of Quick Injuries with the Quick Injuries associated with the source case type preselected, and a checkbox-select dropdown of case types. You can add Quick Injuries to the preselected list and/or remove them. Select the desired list of Quick Injuries and the desired list of case types; then click Update to copy the Quick Injury list to the case types. Note: The selected Quick Injury list will replace, not be added to, any Quick Injuries already associated with the target case type(s).

You cannot create new Quick Injuries or case types in this tab, and you cannot delete case types in this tab (see Case Types to delete case types).
