Icons Used in SmartAdvocate



SmartAdvocate uses icons to make it easier to perform various actions and to convey information in the system. There are many different icons across the various pages in SmartAdvocate, but some are more frequently used and/or are more important than others. The following is a partial list of the icons that appear in SmartAdvocate, loosely grouped according to their frequency and function.

Common Icons

Edit Icon

   
There are multiple versions of this icon, but they are all essentially the same. It is used in most of the tables in SmartAdvocate. Clicking it allows you to edit that row of the table.

Delete Icon

   X
There are multiple versions of this icon (one of which is actually text, rather than an image), but they are all essentially the same. It is used in most of the tables in SmartAdvocate. Clicking it allows you to delete that row of the table. If a particular row does not have a delete icon, the information in that row is considered essential to one or more functions in SmartAdvocate and thus cannot be removed. In some instances, however, the row can still be edited to allow you to customize it to your needs.

Right-click Icon


This icon is used in many of the tables in SmartAdvocate. It generally serves to replace columns that contain numerous action icons. Clicking it (using either the right or left button of your mouse) opens a menu of actions that can be performed on that row of the table; additionally, if the icon is present, you can simply right-click anywhere in the row to open the same menu.

Adobe Export Icon


This icon is used in the tables in SmartAdvocate and allows for export to various file types. Clicking it exports the table to a PDF file.

Excel Export Icon


This icon is used in the tables in SmartAdvocate and allows for export to various file types. Clicking it exports the table to an .xls file.

Word Export Icon


This icon is used in the tables in SmartAdvocate and allows for export to various file types. Clicking it exports the table to a .rtf file, which can be read by Word and other popular Word processors.

Copy Icon


This icon is used in various locations in SmartAdvocate. It is generally used to copy information or record from one location to another.

Comment Icon


This icon is used in various locations in SmartAdvocate. It indicates the presence of a comment on the item with which it appears.  Hover the mouse over the icon to view the comment or click the icon to view the comment.

History Icon


This icon is used in various locations in SmartAdvocate. Clicking it brings up a list with the details of any changes that have been made to the information contained in that row of the table.
