Tip #325 Set Actions to be Repeated for a Pre-Defined Number of Times in Automated Procedures

The Automated Procedure function (“AP”) in SmartAdvocate will allow you to create APs that can be set to repeat on a specific schedule until the “Scope” is no longer true. In essence, the Scope is what determines when the AP stops (i.e., the action will repeat indefinitely until the scope is no longer true).

With the current version of SmartAdvocate, you still have the normal functionality with respect to Scope, but now you also have the ability to set the repeat action for a predefined number of times. With this new functionality, the action repeats for the number of times defined or until the scope is no longer true.

So, for example, if you want to send an automatic text message to a prospective client (a lead, if you will) once every day for five days only, you can use an AP with the action to be performed five times. After the fifth occurrence, the action will be canceled regardless of what scope is used.

Here’s an example of what the above Action Details may look like for the Automated Procedure:

Please note that for this specific example, you should also include at least one Scope for the Automated Procedure so that it will stop sending text messages if the status of the case has changed in the interim. So, if the client is signed up after the second text message for example, the remaining ones will be canceled.

Here is an example of what that Scope may look like:
