  1. SQL version 2012 R2 or later with Microsoft Reporting Services installed

  3. Password for SA user on the SQL server (with full rights) needs to be shared with
    SmartAdvocate

  4. Port 1433 should not be blocked, so it is possible to establish SQL connection
    from the clients (required by plugins)

  5. SQL Server Browser service should be enabled

  6. TCP/IP protocol should be enabled

SmartAdvocate Migration

To be performed by SmartAdvocate

  • Once SmartAdvocate completes remote installation we will schedule and perform migration of data.

Please note: The migration takes approximately one (1) hour for completion and all users must be completely logged off SmartAdvocate at least 15 minutes prior to the scheduled time of the migration and while it is being performed.

If you have any integrations, you will have to make the appropriate settings as well.

For the final migration you will need to advise us if the documents will be migrated to the new location server under the CMS folder above.  We will need access to your old server to get the past database and will need you to confirm the location.  After the migration you will need to switch your SSL certificate to the new server for appropriate use of integrations.  You may also need to switch your ftp settings for integrations such as court reporting and medical records retrieval.

If you have QuickBooks integration you will need to provide us with the updated questionnaire sent under a separate email and configure your new server accordingly.

    licensee wishes all files to be in one server or will be terminating old server)

  1. IE 11 or better Installed with compatibility settings and trusted sites configured

  2. Chrome installed with SmartAdvocate document extension added and document
    launcher installed

  3. SmartAdvocate Registry file run

  4. SmartAdvocate Outlook Plug-In installed

  5. SmartAdvocate Word Merge Plug-In installed

  6. SmartAdvocate Word Template Editor installed (Administrative users)

  7. Pop-up blocker disabled for SmartAdvocate site

Scanner Configuration (scan to network drive)

To be performed by Licensee/IT Professional

  • Configure folder option on your scanner with a destination folder for
    scanned documents labelled “Scan To SA” and point that destination to a shared
    public folder on your network drive labelled “ScanToSA”
