The purpose of this is to replace (edit) default defendant John Doe.

To achieve this, please follow the example listed below. 

  1. Navigate to Defendant > Summary

  2. On the Defendant Screen, right-click on the defendant and select edit. This will allow you to replace the contact rather than editing the contact card.

    The confusion is that most users will click on the defendant's name (which takes the user to the contact card) and edit the information. If you edited the contact card like that, it would change wherever that contact is listed.


    For example, suppose you changed Geico's contact card info (Rather than replacing it) as the listed insurance company to State Farm. That means anywhere Geico was listed as an insurance company would be now be listed as State Farm after the change.

  3. On the Defendant Screen, right-click on the defendant and select edit. This will allow you to replace the contact rather than editing the contact card.

  4. Click Save & you will see that you have replaced the default defendant.
