User Drop-down Menu

The User Drop-down Menu allows you to edit your account information and preferences, or to log out of the system. It is accessible from nearly every screen in SmartAdvocate (the Case Wizard and Contact Card being exceptions) but is not visible until you hover the mouse pointer over either your own name in the far upper-right corner of the screen, or the triangular icon immediately next to your name. Once it is visible, the menu consists of the following four options, from top to bottom:

  • Contact Card: Opens your own contact details in a new tab. See Contact Card for details about this screen.

  • User Preferences: Opens a panel that allows you to edit various settings for your SmartAdvocate account. See User Preferences for details about this screen.

  • Change Password: Opens a panel that allows you to change your password. This panel consists of three fields. You must input your current password into the first field (marked "Old Password:") and input your desired new password into both of the other two fields. Click "OK" to save the new password or "Cancel" to abandon the change.

  • Logout: Logs you out of SmartAdvocate and redirects you to the Login screen, even if you previously checked the "Remember me" button when you logged in.

Next to the menu is a smiley-face icon ( ). Clicking on or hovering over this icon reveals a drop-down menu with two options: "Tell Us What You Like" and "Tell Us What Can Be Better." Both of these options open a screen in a new tab that allows you to submit feedback about the SmartAdvocate system. Clicking "Tell Us What You Like" will flag the feedback as positive, while clicking "Tell Us What Can Be Better" will flag it as critical. See Suggestions for details about this screen. (Though not technically part of the main user drop down, this feature is associated with your user experience of the site and so is documented here.)
