AssureSign does not provide a means to edit signed PDF documents after they have been signed.

Documents not signed with a digital certificate have always been locked to prevent alteration.

AssureSign recently altered the locking password mechanism to ensure this could not be bypassed.

Documents created prior to the security update do not have the password on them. If users are trying to alter documents that were created before Wednesday July 22, 2020 they will continue to be able to alter. But documents created after July 22, 2020 will have the locking password that can not be bypassed. We do not have a mechanism that allows PDF documents to be altered after they've been signed.

Note that altering locked documents will invalidate the ability to prove a document was signed in AssureSign through our document validation process. There is no mechanism to allow a single user some password or rights to alter locked, signed documents.
